There’s a couple of trends that you’ve probably seen on Instagram that I’m just obsessed with. I love them so much that they’ve basically become a part of my daily outfits. It’s kind of a struggle to make my ootd’s more diverse since I’m soooo tempted to wear these the same way over and over again. Btw have I mentioned I’m a muscle car fanatic? One day I’ll own a Plymouth Barracuda, one day.
Anyways, here’s what I have for you guys today:
1. Sheer long sleeved tops: These are EVERYWHERE, but I’m not complaining since I love sheer anything. The most common way i’ve seen it styled is under over sized t’s, or in my fave way, under muscle t’s (like in my post, Parabola). You could also be a little daring and wear it with just a bralette underneath. There’s all kinds of styles, from fishnet tops if you’re feeling edgy, or a simple sheer one for a more toned down look.
2. Platform Sneakers: I’ve always been all over platforms. When I first started wearing heels, I refused to buy them unless there was a big fat platform. I even took the plunge and got the spiked Jeffrey Campbell Litas back then (My father in law called them KISS boots. You know, after that band lol). I saw Hayley Williams with platform vans and instantly fell in love with the whole platform sneaker look. Don’t get me started on my obsession with TUK’s Viva Mondo Creepers, the platform height is perf. It seems like platform sneakers really caught on lately when Puma released their Rihanna Creepers. Since they’re super popular, you can find all kinds of versions.
3. O-Ring Belts: These arn’t as popular as the other two, but I’ve seen a handful of people rocking cool belts that have a huge o-ring on them. I never intended on buying it, but it happened when I came across one accidentally while looking for a retro o-ring chain belt. It reminds me of 90s grunge fashion and I love the edgy look it gives an outfit. If you’re not going for a look that’s too wild, it looks great with high waist skinny jeans. For something more out there, my fave blogger Luanna styled it in a really unique but awesome way here. Since the belt I was originally looking for has o-rings, I included it too. It goes perfect on top of a patent skirt or just simply over jeans.
Are you currently rocking any of these? I’d love to know how you would style them!
